March 2020 Newsletter

News from the last meeting

Our last meeting was the second one for 2020 and the last one before the show on March 21st. There were a lot of details to discuss...

First and foremost, we confirmed that the show is still on despite a few other shows being cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus. Christophe has reviewed with the recreation center hosting the event that there is no reason to cancel at this time since the risk is still categorized as low in BC.

The PMC expo show originally scheduled for March 28th at Mount Vernon (Washington state) and to take place in a retirement home is postponed to the fall. The train show originally scheduled for March 14th at the Cameron Community center is also cancelled.

We distributed more 2020 membership cards to those who made it. Do not forget to come with your $20 contribution at the next meeting or at the show to get one if you could not make it. Your contribution goes a long way into keeping the club in good standing for the next few years.

Gerry Chevalier came up with some 3D printed cylinder head cover holders for the club business cards. They look great and it was a neat idea Gerry had discussed at the previous meeting. We are glad he was able to make it happen We will fine tune the size and build enough for distribution to the local hobby stores.

We confirmed the volunteers for the show:

1. Christophe and Camille Baretta at admission / raffle tickets with Brian Scott’s support

2. Judy Chevalier at registration

3. Gerry Chevalier at the photo booth

4. Valentine Baretta at the Make N Take

5. Ron Coutts at security

6. Gerry B and Terry D for raffle draws

Gerry Bamforth gave us the overall schedule:

> 7am to 8am room setup

> 8am to 9am vendors setup

> 9am opening to public, no public before

> 10am Make N Take

> Raffle prizes draw at regular interval

> 2pm awards

> 2:30pm show conclusion and wrap up

> 3pm room empty.

Gerry Bamforth is still taking vendor table reservations for the show. He has 22 registered to date so it looks like it will be a success.
