News from the last meeting
The 2020 Car Model show flyers were printed out and some copies have been distributed already. Christophe will work on some small cards for the hobby shops to distribute to their customers. The card will reference the club meetings and upcoming show.
Gerry Bamforth started taking vendor table reservations for the show. Christophe will add Gerry’s contact info in the website for vendors to join him if they want to book a table.
Christophe was looking for volunteers for the maker faire event this Saturday September 14th. Gerry Chevalier and Ken Switzer will join him and his daughter Camille to introduce the general public at the science museum to the car modelling hobby. Brian Scott has refreshed an amazing 3D display showing all the steps to build a stunning Chevrolet Bel Air 1962.

The club will revise a bit the current meeting format and members will try presenting once to the group what they brought at the beginning of the meeting.
What’s on the bench?
Gerry Chevalier brought a motorized belt sander and gave us a quick review. It seems quite useful for resin parts but needs to be used with caution on styrene parts as it spins too fast and melt it.

Gerry Bamforth bought a pretty old Revell kit. The level of detail was unseen in recent models. The engine parts had all internal components to allow for a realistic partial assembly of the engine. Even the instruction booklet was a work of art:

For those of you who never came to one of our meetings, we have a raffle at each meeting where one lucky club member who brought a work in progress or completed model can win a model kit. Here were the ones to chose from this meeting:

Here a few pictures of the other work in progress from our fellow members:

What will be discussed in the next meeting?
We should review the club cards.
We will report on the Maker Faire event.
We hope to see you there!
New members and visitors are always welcome! Our next meeting will be October 8th at the Lions Housing Society Club House 7420 Mulberry Place in Burnaby, from 7pm to 9pm.
